ZONE 2 MAJOR STOCKWATER SUPPLY ISSUE

We regret to inform you that we have discovered a major part of the Warren Road Eyre River siphon has been washed away in the recent Eyre River flood.

We will need to let the river drop further before investigations can commence on how to fix this major issue.

Stockwater users will need to make preparations for their own backup water supply while WIL works together with the Waimakariri District Council, Engineers and Contractors to come up with a solution.

We will keep you informed.

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
