Wright’s Road Storage Ponds Environment Court Interim Decision

On 10 April 2019 the Environment Court provided the parties with an interim decision on the Wright’s Road Storage Project. The Court has indicated it will grant consent subject to WIL meeting a number of conditions. In reaching the decision, the Court has largely accepted WIL’s evidence answering the ECESS appeal, and the outstanding conditions are limited to those WIL has already indicated as acceptable to the Court. The Court Decision can be found by clicking on the following link.

There is still several months of work to complete the process of consenting and preparation for seeking Shareholder approval. As previously communicated to Shareholders, the next steps in the process are:

  • Gain the final Resource Consent.
  • Finalise the costs of building the Storage Ponds and negotiate a construction contract.
  • Present the completed Storage Ponds project to the Shareholders for their approval.
