RIVER UPDATE

This message is recorded at 2.00pm Monday 22nd November 2021.

After yesterday’s rain in the catchment the river has peaked in the early hours of this morning and is currently flowing at 180 cumecs and is dropping.

The main river water channel has moved and is coming directly at the intake. As a result this has pushed shingle under the screens but has also resulted in a formation of a deep channel directly in the location that our high track excavator needs to be positioned to remove the gravel build up. This deep channel is preventing access for the excavator and as the river drops the intake screens capacity to take high water flows will also reduce. This may result in some restrictions over the coming days until we can rectify the issue.

We have met onsite this morning to formulate a plan and resources are currently deploying.

We will keep you up-to-date with any further developments.
