Many of you may have read in recent news letters and on the WIL website that we are in the process of upgrading one of the two intake screen structures. In order to progress the upgrade this screen structure is to be removed over the winter until the replacement is manufactured and re installed mid-August. In order to carry out this work the river must be diverted away from the intake to allow the water level to drop enough for pumps and lifting Crane to be established to remove the screen structure.
The Shut Down will commence Tuesday morning 7th May and we anticipate resuming stock water flow by Thursday morning 9th May.
It is estimated the intake works could take 3 day’s but could be subject to delays if high winds stop the Crane’s lifting process.
We will keep you informed of progress and hope to get the stock water reinstated to you as soon as possible.
