IRRIGATION RESTRICTIONS: Zone 2 ON Wednesday 23rd December 2020

ECAN have set the irrigation flow for the Waimakariri River @ 59.1 cumecs for tomorrow Wednesday 23rd December 2020 and kept our take to 83% of our allocation.

Due to decreased irrigation demand tomorrow, we have enough water available to fulfil all orders.

Zone 2 irrigation will resume tomorrow morning.

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
