The shingle from the intake has been excavated, screens cleaned manually, and the intake is now back up and running at full flow.

Zone 1 water is now restored, please check your irrigators and restart.

Zone 2 water will start returning from 6pm onwards from the Eyre Siphon, please restart as water returns.

Zone 3 water will start returning from 3pm onwards, please restart as water returns.

Zone 4 water will start returning from 5pm onwards from Wolff’s Road Siphon with flows gradually increasing to the bottom end later this evening, please restart as water returns.

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
