Machinery has been busy clearing shingle from the intake structure today after yesterday’s fresh. We will have the intake re-opened this afternoon.

Irrigation restrictions have now been lifted and orders can now be placed for irrigation water delivery for Friday.

Please place orders through usual channels by 5:00pm today and ensure you specify the flow rate when ordering.

***ZONE 4 – Please note we are planning race maintenance in early April and will require zone 4 to be shutdown for 2-3days while this takes place. We would advise you to get up to date with any irrigation requirements and have temporary stock water measures in place during this time. We will advise of the dates closer to the time.***

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
