BROWNS ROCK INTAKE MALFUNCTION: Friday 13th December 2019

In the early hours of this morning a malfunction of the intake occurred. Some works are required this morning to resolve the issue. Water flows will temporarily be disrupted for some users. Please check your irrigators throughout today.

We are working to get water back to you as soon as possible.

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
