BROWNS ROCK INTAKE CLOSURE: 8:00pm Tuesday 26th March 2019
Due to heavy rainfall, Ecan have flood warnings in place for the Waimakariri River.
The intake gates will remain closed until further notice, this is necessary to protect the intake infrastructure.
Zone 4 irrigators please turn off tomorrow morning as water race levels subside.
It is likely machinery will need to clear shingle from the intake when the river levels have reduced before re-opening.
We will update you as soon as the intake is able to be re-opened and irrigation water is available.
