ZONE 2 & 4 WATER INTERUPTION EXTENSION

ZONE 4 – Stockwater will be off again tomorrow to continue water race cleaning activities while weather conditions are suitable.

ZONE 2 – Stockwater will be off again tomorrow and possibly Friday, this is because we are repairing a damaged siphon under the Eyre Diversion Drain near Oxford. This is a fiddly repair on a large pipe. We think it is best to push on while the weather is suitable. Further updates will be provided later tomorrow.

The Waimakariri Irrigation Ltd Scheme is a shareholder-owned cooperative company with consent to take water 11.041 cumecs from the Waimakariri River. Water is drawn from the Waimakariri River at Browns Rock for distribution through 1,100 kilometres of open race channels to supply around 200 shareholders. The Scheme supplies farms covering approximately 30,000 ha within an overall area of 78,000 ha and is located between the Waimakariri and the Ashley Rivers and between Oxford and Rangiora townships.
